The Piggeries
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Piggeries - lovely warm welcome and loved the painted pigs and mice around the cottage.
Watching the variety of visitors to the bird table and garden has been wonderful.
Cottage very well equipped and we could see that everything here has been put together with love and care (including the planting of the garden.)
Picture postcard views and a warm welcome wherever we went. Weather has been mixed, just wish it had been warm enough to sit out in the garden more in the evening after our days out. We have loved our week here and will definately be back.
Thank you Terry, Sue & Girls.

We enjoyed the walks from the house and the varied places to visit locally, not to mention the breathtaking views from here.
A big thankyou from us all for providing such superb accommodation.

Mole End
We keep thinking that our holidays here cannot get any better but they do! How is that possible?
Sunday lunch at the Barn, dinner again at the Longridge Restaurant and, on the last day, fish and chips from Thorpeys were all fantastic!
The lambs are just too cute for words - a real treat to see them.
The boys (large and small!) all made hazel walking sticks- this kept them amused for hours.
`it seems to be an unbearably long time until we return in October, but we know it will be worth the wait!

It was lovely visiting Barney, Holly and the new kitty.

Enjoyed it so much we came back. It was snowing when we arrived and is still white today as we pack to leave!! Hopefully back to some sunshine in South Africa.
Mum
The cottage is really cozy for having people over. It was such a nice treat having it snow just before Christmas and such a beautiful cottage to celebrate it. As it does'nt snow in South Africa it is a big present for snow.
Thank you
Ellie
I liked this house it was very nice and the snow made it very very nice.
I love Partridge cottage.

Easter school holiday April 2010
Thankyou you for a comfortable holiday which we have all enjoyed. The cottage has been a very homely base from which to explore. We have enjoyed trips to Lancaster,Blackpool, Liverpool, Skipton, Beacon Fell & Anfield. We have loved coming home to the Piggeries. Both boys enjoyed feeding the lambs and George enjoyed helping Terry with the chickens and gardening too! A lovely base in a beautiful part of the country. We would love to return - thankyou Sue & Terry

Christmas & New Year 2009/10 The Bateson family, Vancouver, Canada
Hi Sue & Terry, just wanted to follow up with how we enjoyed our stay and Christmas in the Piggeries. My parents were thrilled at being able to spend Christmas Day with us and enjoy a family meal prepared in your wonderful location. I'm enclosing photo's of our family together in what I must say is a top notch location, plus it was a white Christmas, though snow tires would have been an asset.
Our apologies for the broken dust pan and wax spill on the lovely table cloth you supplied. The Christmas tree etc, just added to the spirit of the season. I will pass your name on to friends and Mum and Dad mentioned today during a telephone conversation they would probably love to spend some time with you in the coming year.
We wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous new year.

Christmas 2009 Family gathering, 6 adults
Just a quick email to say thankyou very much for such a lovely cottage to have been able to celebrate within.
We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we saw and did for the whole week, including getting everyone up the hill on the 21st!!
The turkey worked well for us AGA novices under your good guidance and I could yet be converted to one, although my existing ovens are only a couple of years old!!
I hope the season went well for you through into the New Year and that the snowfall yesterday has'nt cleared everyone out of road grit.
Many thanks again and as I said at the time we will be passing on the name of Barnacre Cottages.

Hello Sue
Happy New Year to you, Terry and your family.
Thankyou for your email, we all had a wonderful time. It was a holiday where memories for a lifetime were made. The cottage was wonderful and the scenery spectacular and you made us feel very welcome. I am sure that if and when we are up in that part of the country again, we will be looking to come and stay with you.

New Year 2009/10 The Moore family
We've really enjoyed our New Year break at Pheasant cottage-what a lovely setting for welcoming 2010. Grace really liked feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, chasing pheasants and(of course) counting mice! (owners note- these are actually painted around the inside walls of the cottages and it has become a bit of a competion as to how many there actually are with varying amounts between different guests). The open fire was very welcoming after being outside in the snow.
We love the cottage, have really appreciated the warm welcome afforded to us by Sue & Terry and hope to return for another break- soon!

The Piggeries
Thankyou Terry & Sue for the most wonderful weekend. The Piggeries is such a beautiful, homely cottage & you made us feel so very welcome. Maddie has especially enjoyed all the walks. She has had mud baths and cleaned off in the river & ran around like a lunatic. We have all thoroughly enjoyed it & would love to come and stay again - thankyou.

The Piggeries
We've had a wonderful week in the Piggeries. What a view! Loved watching the many birds that came to visit and Flynn had lots of fun on the local walks we went on. Slean End to Nicky Nook a favourite as well as a first ever visit to the seaside at Fleetwood. The blue skies and glorious sunshine was just perfect. Loved the home from home cottage, especially the log burner and the great book collection. Thanks for the eggs as well. We've had a lovely stay. Thanks for the warm welcome from Terry, the log burner lit for our arrival on a cold winters day was most appreciated.

The Piggeries
Surely the poshest Piggery in the world! This has been a wonderful place to stay, chickens and pheasants coming right up to the door - the kids have been in their element. Just sad we're only here for a couple of days on a working holiday. Still, its been the perfect pad after a hard day of house hunting. All I have to do now is persuade my 2 year old daughter to part with the stuffed toy piggy!
December 2008 Gill & Malc plus friends
This is the second time we have stayed at this house and we loved it. It is ideal for our reunion each year with friends, although we are all quite local it makes us get together. A very social house, the enjoy (the ladies) shopping in Garstang while the men walk. We have a wonderful weekend and we shall be here again next year.
New Year 2008 Julia & David plus friends
Our second year at Barnacre Cottages - we love it. Tennis, walks, relaxing in the cottages, very impressed with the luxury in Woodpecker.

Great family holiday
6 adults (2 of whom disabled)
2 children aged 1 & 3
Fabulous house - felt just like home, the facilities are superb - very comfortable - whatever the weather!
The local area was amazing - we have only touched on what we could do, will need many more trips to explore fully.
We also used the Tramper - one sponsored by Barnacre Cottages and the other by Lancs CC.
One of my brothers was able to experience Grizedale and Beacon Fell, the same as able bodied, an experience he has not had for 15 years!
May 2008 Irina & Vladimir St. Petersburg, Russia

August 2008 The Sandham Family - North Wales Woodpecker cottage
A most enjoyable week for the whole family. The tennis courts were fantastic and the view from the cottage amazing. Beauty and the Beast was great in Lancaster Park and the car boot in Bilsbourgh was enormous on a sunday with some great buys. The ice machine is awesome. We wish we could of had a longer stay at the cottage.
14 March 2009 Chris & Fred & sisters
Mole End just wonderful. So bright, spacious and as for the Aga, we love it, cooks food to perfection. Have made friends with the hens and were lucky enough to sample a couple of newly laid eggs mmmmm....
Walks to Scorton and the fab scones, still trying to fathom out their recipe. The weather has been kind, we played tennis too.
Thankyou Terry & Sue for making us so welcome.
This is our second visit and will definately be back.
Life in Mole End has been wonderful and feel like I'm in a PALACE. Wonderful walks and now I am all walked out, could do with another break to rest my eary legs. Hens have been a treat to watch them carry on and supply us with the occasional egg.
I would love to return to Mole End one day and thankyou for making our stay so welcoming. Rosalie.

Will try and make several return visits. Lisa
I came with Lisa and this is my second visit to Barnacre - was as good as the first time. Highly recommended. Bryony
Also with the birthday party - beautiful - loving the Aga although my kitchen might not fit one. Planning to fetch the family for a long weekend.

Had a lovely family get together. Cottage BRILL. Wheelchair access brilliant. Working mans club worth a visit. Really friendly, good game of snooker. Look forward to coming back.
2/January 2009 Michaela aged 11, from South Africa
I really enjoyed my stay here. My bed was so soft, it was lovely. My favourite parts were the tennis court and all of the wild animals, my sister and I both fed the chickens some bread and they loved it.
I hope that one day I can come back to mole end and stay here.
28 Nov 2008 The Morris family
This was my very best birthday I have ever had. A surprise 60th with my family for a whole weeks holiday. The welcome by Terry and Sue with 60th birthday banners everywhere. When the dawn broke and I saw the lovely garden birds, chickens, deer and a hen harrier. The children played with the books and toys. My family loved the challenge of cooking with the Aga. We have all had a wonderful time in superb accommodation, what better than a stable surrounded by animals so near to Christmas - no donkey, but a dog bigger than a donkey, spotted, like a cow and soft as a lamb. A wonderful, wonderful time, we could'nt find anything wrong - A perfect place, friendly welcome and a memory for ever. Thank you everybody.
Christmas 2008 The Shield family
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. From townies to country lovers it was the perfect location for birds, wildlife etc. We have had a wonderful week with sun and blue skies for the whole time. Thankyou very much

We would just like to express our thanks for the lovely holiday we had in Mole End cottage. All in our party enjoyed the visit to the area but more especially the cottage itself.
It is a credit to you both for providing a superb facility, with attention to detail we have never found before. The personal service you provide was second to none. Many thanks, we hope to see you soon. Pam and Geoff

We'd never been to Lancashire before but well definitely be back. The Piggeries was home from home and the views were fantastic both day and night. The welcome was very friendly and deserves the 5 star status. The area is lovely especially Chipping and Southport.

We did come back! Just as great as last year- the weather has let us walk everyday and we will go back to Cambs determined to live 'back up north' before too long. Our only problem - to find somewhere like this!
Tim, Jo and Matti
A lovely cottage in a wonderful setting. A good time was had by all. Beth (age 3) particularly enjoyed her daily chicken feeding ritual. The black one was her favourite. She named it Fluffy. She also loved the ducks, which she appropriately named Jemima and Puddleduck. The time has passed all too quickly. Thank you for the friendly welcome, especially the baby toys.
Deborah, Andrew, Ellie, Grandma and Grandad
We have enjoyed a wonderful week in Partridge Cottage. The facilities and equipment were the best we have found in holiday cottages. We have already booked our next break at Barnacre in the summer.
The Tobias family
Thanks for a wonderful holiday, the cottage was perfect. The Forest of Bowland was our favourite spot, we didnt realise there was so much beauty so close to Manchester.
Barbara, Bill and Ann
3rd visit and as wonderful as ever. Feeding the lambs was a wonderful bonus for the girls - thank you.

The Old Stables is a little corner of Heaven on Earth with Terry and Sue the perfect 'guardian angels.' Quality is outstanding and as very widely travelled self caterers we rate it as one of the best properties in the UK.
